The shortest engagement ever?

“Bachelorette” Jenn Tran, 26, chose freight company owner Devin Strader before the 28-year-old presented her with a dazzling Neil Lane design in the finale of the ABC reality show last night.

“Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” Strader asked Tran, who wore a white dress by Randi Rahm for the romantic moment.

Strader then presented her with a yellow gold engagement ring featuring a sparkling 3-carat oval diamond in a rounded, tapered setting.

Although the season winner had carefully selected the elegant, sophisticated piece beforehand – and even paid attention to details like Tran’s preference for gold – the couple’s love story was ultimately short-lived.

Even before the proposal footage aired, Tran addressed the audience during “After the Final Rose” and revealed that her relationship with Strader was already over.

According to the medical student, the situation changed shortly after the two left Hawaii, when Strader began to withdraw.

“I felt like I was secondary in his life,” she told host Jesse Palmer. “And I didn’t understand why.”

“We had planned a (visit) as a happy couple sometime last month, and the night before he called me and basically called off the engagement,” she continued, revealing that the breakup phone call lasted 15 minutes. “He basically said he didn’t love me anymore and didn’t feel the same about me anymore.”

Tran said Strader “regretted his engagement.”

She even went so far as to suggest that the two just start dating without the added pressure of marriage, but the two went their separate ways and didn’t see each other again until Tuesday’s finale.

She also criticized his social media usage after the breakup and questioned Strader at the “After the Final Rose” reunion about girls he followed on Instagram, including former “Bachelor” star Maria Georgas.
