Shooting in Houston: Man shot dead after armed confrontation at food truck

Late Saturday night, a man was shot and killed in southwest Houston after an altercation escalated at a nearby food truck.

The incident began around 9:30 p.m. near the 6200 block of Chimney Rock when three men approached the victim at a food truck and demanded $20 from him. The victim told the men he was going to get the money and went to a nearby apartment. Instead of returning with the money, he returned armed with a handgun.

The victim reportedly pointed the gun at the three men but did not fire. In response, the men opened fire on the victim, striking him and fatally wounding him. The suspects then fled the scene on foot, heading west on Elm Street.

Although one of the suspects has been identified, no arrests have been made yet. Houston police continue to investigate the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
