Studio369 launches the first season of MetalCore on September 12th

Studio 369, the game development company behind the multiplayer mech shooter MetalCore, today announced the release of MetalCore Season 1: MetalPunk Rhapsody for September 12th.

This milestone marks the game’s transition to open beta, allowing anyone to take part in the epic mech battles on the distant planet Kerberos without needing a beta key or making any purchases.

Season 1 launches MetalCore’s new seasonal format. Each season lasts approximately four weeks and focuses on a different faction in the game’s expansive universe. Season 1: MetalPunk Rhapsody introduces players to several key features.

The game has been updated to Unreal Engine 5, featuring more realistic and responsive lighting and a world system that enables improved performance for mech battles of epic proportions, the company said.

The upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 and DLSS has also significantly expanded accessibility. Through these optimization efforts, the development team has expanded the range of hardware that can run the game smoothly without the need for cutting-edge gaming rigs.

“With Season 1: MetalPunk Rhapsody, we’re making the game accessible to all players,” said Matt Candler, CEO of Studio369, in a statement. “We’ve listened to our community and delivered the features they’ve been asking for, from UE5 graphics to Barony Wars. There’s never been a better time to join Kerberos.”

While Season 1 focuses on the MetalPunk faction, future seasons will explore other factions such as the Gear Breakers and Holy Corp, each bringing a unique twist to the game. The game’s MetalPunk theme takes center stage in Season 1, diving into the rich lore of this faction. Players can look forward to thematic content, skins, and storylines that bring the MetalPunk ethos to life.

Missions have been optimized to provide a more engaging experience for both new and experienced players. The user onboarding process has been refined to make it easier for newcomers to get into the action. New PvP bounties and fresh mission content will keep experienced players on their toes.

Season 1: MetalPunk Rhapsody introduces a number of new features designed to enhance the MetalCore experience. The highly anticipated PvE Raids require up to 10 faction members to work together and strategically navigate the treacherous terrain of Kerberos while facing deadly alien species and securing vital resources. These risky cooperative missions will test players’ teamwork and tactical skills to strengthen their faction’s standing on the planet.

The introduction of unit rarity and stats adds a new layer to gameplay. Players will find that their mechs and vehicles now have random strengths and stats, with rarer units boasting better stats and unique abilities. A new seasonal rewards system has been implemented to award exclusive, limited-time prizes to those who reach certain premium tiers, providing a compelling reason to climb the ranks and prove your mettle on the battlefield.

The mission system in MetalCore has also received a significant update. The introductory missions have been reworked to improve the experience for first-time users and make it easier for new players to get started and understand the game’s core mechanics. This improved onboarding process is designed to give newcomers a smoother introduction to the world of Kerberos. For more experienced players, the update introduces new PvP bounties and fresh mission content to provide more challenge and depth.

The game will be available on the Epic Games Store. Players can join the MetalCore community on Discord to get the latest updates and participate in launch events.
