Tallahassee police arrest one “armed and dangerous” suspect after shooting, one still at large

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Tallahassee police have arrested an “armed and dangerous” suspect after a burglary escalated into a shooting near Appleyard Drive Wednesday afternoon. The second suspect is still at large, according to TPD.

According to TPD, there is no longer any threat to public safety.

According to police, officers responded to a burglary at 2700 The Socials around 3 p.m., which escalated into a shootout after officers arrived.

According to police, there are no reports of injuries.

Tallahassee State College posted an alert on its website around 3:30 p.m., urging people in the area to seek safe shelter immediately and await further instructions. Tallahassee State College is located on Appleyard Drive.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., TSC gave the all-clear for its campus, saying the campus was now open and operating under normal conditions. The Lively Technical College campus on Appleyard Drive lifted its lockdown measures around 4:40 p.m.
