Texans vs Bears | In numbers

22 – Nico Collins finished week one with six catches for 117 yards against the Indianapolis Colts. In the last three meetings with the Colts, Collins has caught nearly two dozen passes and caught well over 450 yards.

2 – Jalen Pitre had two interceptions the last time the Texans played the Bears in 2022.

1 – Rookie S Calen Bullock has a 1:1 INT ratio to games played after intercepting a pass in his first game in Indianapolis. He will play against former USC teammate Caleb Williams on Sunday night.

29 – Bears QB Caleb Williams threw 29 passes in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.

22 – Of these, 22 passes by Willams were shorter than ten air yards.

7 – Williams threw only ten passes over ten air yards and completed only one of them.

40 – Thanks to their great running game, the Texans had the ball in their hands twice as long as the Colts in Week 1. With 40 minutes of possession, they led the league after Week 1.

14 – Of the Bears’ 24 points against the Titans, 58% (14 of 24) came directly from defense and special teams. Former Texan Jonathan Owens scored a touchdown after a blocked punt and CB Tyrique Stevenson also scored a touchdown after a gifted interception by Titans QB Will Levis.

2 – Bears DE Montez Sweat became the first player in NFL history to lead TWO different teams in sacks in the same season. He recorded 6.5 sacks in eight games for the Commanders, then was traded to Chicago in week nine and recorded 6.0 sacks there. He’s a threat and we’ll have to see how he gets stopped on Sunday night.

18 – The Bears have 18 interceptions since Sweat arrived in Chicago in Week 9 last year, leading the NFL.

OK, that’s it as we make final preparations for Sunday night against the Bears. FIVE YEARS, BABY – that’s a long time and it ends Sunday night.
