1. Head to Arvada this weekend for some family fun

Arvada Days is a festival dedicated to old-fashioned family fun, with games for the whole family. There’s a fishing contest for kids, vendors, live music and more! Adults can quench their thirst in the beer garden. Proceeds from the beer garden benefit Ralston House. The fun takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clear Creek Valley Park. 2. Experience Eastern European culture in Lakewood

Head to Belmar Park in Lakewood to discover, enjoy, share and support Ukraine during the Colorado Ukrainian Festival. There will be a variety of Ukrainian, American and Polish food, desserts, activities for kids, a beer garden, souvenirs and plenty of arts and crafts for sale. A concert in the amphitheater will also showcase various genres of music. It all takes place Saturday from 1-9 p.m. Tickets are $25. Find more information here.

3. Frolicking at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo

Fried food, craft beer, rodeo, live music and more will take over Southern Colorado at the 153rd Colorado State Fair, which begins Friday. The State Fair runs through Sept. 2 and also features concerts, rides, livestock shows and more. Information and tickets here.

4. If you love old-fashioned festivals, head to Loveland this weekend.

The 128th Old Fashioned Loveland Corn Roast Festival kicks off Friday, August 23rd with a corn roast kickoff, corn shucking contest and live music. But wait, there’s more! It continues on Saturday, kicking off the day with a parade through downtown Loveland, live music, food, drinks and more. It’s all being held at the Old Fairgrounds Park, 700 S. 5. Celebrate Japanese culture during the Spirit of Japan Festival

A celebration of Japanese culture is taking place in Denver this weekend. Japanese dishes not typically found in Japanese restaurants – okonomiyaki, yakitori, ishi-yaki imo and more – as well as a wide variety of beverages will delight visitors this weekend at Denver’s Sakura Square. 6. Want to get out of the city but still enjoy a summer festival? Head to Colorado’s Western Slope.

The Summer Days Festival in Grand Junction is an all-day, family-friendly event featuring live music, vendors, food trucks and more. The event takes place this Saturday at the Lincoln Park Barn starting at noon. Tickets are $18. More information here.

7. Pull a plane for a good cause this weekend

The Special Olympics Colorado Plane Pull allows teams to compete to see who can pull a plane down the runway the fastest, while raising funds and awareness for the work Special Olympics Colorado does in our community. Learn more here.
