The American Red Cross of Massachusetts explains how residents can help victims of Hurricane Helene

(WWLP) – American Red Cross volunteers are managing the many shelters created to help those caught in the path of the hurricane, ensuring those displaced have a safe place to sleep and somewhere to eat.

The American Red Cross of Massachusetts told 22News it has already sent volunteers to Florida to help victims of Hurricane Helene.

“Right now they just need people down there to help people affected by the storm,” said Jeff Hall, communications manager for the American Red Cross in Massachusetts. “Nearly 3,000 have spent the night in shelters in Florida, so these people need people to care for them, get them meals and keep them safe.”
