The enemy has significantly reduced the use of tactical air forces in the Kharkiv region

After the start of the Kursk operation, there was a weakening of Russian tactical air force activities in the Kharkiv region.

This was stated by Colonel Vitaliy Sarantsev, a spokesman for the Kharkiv operational and tactical group, during the United News fundraising gala, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We have felt relief only in tactical aviation. That is, the enemy has significantly reduced its deployment in our direction. If in the previous periods we had 30-50 guided bombs per day on our sector of the front, then yesterday, for example, the enemy launched two air strikes, using 4 guided bombs and 11 unguided air missiles. This is significantly less than in previous periods, one can say it is several times less,” he noted.

In his opinion, this means that the enemy has completely abandoned the use of tactical aviation and is actively using it in other sectors of the front, in particular in the Sumy region.

Sarantsev added that there is no shortage of aircraft. “The enemy still has a certain offensive potential and, of course, the aircraft that he can use against the defense forces in the most important areas,” the spokesman noted.

Speaking about the changes in his sector of the front after the start of the Kursk operation, he said that on certain days the enemy intensified the use of FPV drones.

“Usually, it carries out an average of 30-40 attacks with kamikaze drones per day. On some days, there may even be 50 or 60 such attacks. In some areas, especially in the Lyptsi-Hlyboke direction, the morale of some enemy units has dropped significantly,” Sarantsev said.

The spokesman explained that the personnel of the Russian Federation refuse to take part in combat missions or to carry out special tasks, which may include the delivery of ammunition, provisions, medicines to the front lines, etc.

“These tasks may include the evacuation of the injured, which they hardly do. That is, they do not only not evacuate their injured, but also the dead. The weather is hot now and this leads to a certain crisis of the sanitary and epidemiological situation,” he noted.

When asked whether it was possible to take prisoners in his sector of the front, Sarantsev explained that the situation in the Kharkiv region was not the same as in the Kursk region and that there were no such massive surrenders of the Russians there as in the Kursk region.

“If there are such cases, they are isolated cases. Last week, for example, if I am not mistaken, there were two prisoners, one of whom was filmed with a drone,” the spokesman said.

As reported, the offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation began on August 6, 2024.
