The first trailer for Amazon’s Australian remake of “The Office” starring a woman is here – and fans don’t know what to think of it.

In the short clip, which you can watch below, we’re introduced to the latest version of Michael Scott/David Brent – who is just as edgy and quirky as his predecessors (although fans of the US and UK offices don’t seem too impressed).

According to the official synopsis, “Hannah Howard (Felicity Ward) is the general manager of Flinley Craddick. When she learns that her branch is closing and work must be done from home, she goes into survival mode and makes promises she can’t keep in order to keep her ‘work family’ together.”

The cast includes Edith Poor as Lizzie in the role of Dwight/Gareth, Steen Raskopoulos as sales representative Nick in the role of Tim/Jim, and Shari Sebbens as Greta in the role of Pam/Dawn (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Also starring Josh Thomson, Jonny Brugh, Susan Ling Young, Raj Labade, Lucy Schmidt, Zoe Terakes, Pallavi Sharda, Claude Jabbour and Jason Perini.

A spin-off of the US version of The Office is currently in the works, with creator Greg Daniels at the helm. Star Wars and Ex Machina actor Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, who made her debut in season 2 of The White Lotus, will play lead roles in the cast.

The Office hits Prime Video on October 18. For more, check out our list of the best new TV shows coming your way in 2024 and beyond, or our guide to the best Prime Video shows to add to your streaming queue right now.
