The Mooch calls for Trump’s arrest – Newsweek

Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci has called for Trump’s arrest for violating the “terms of his bail agreement” following Trump’s comments about Liz Cheney.

At an event in Glendale, Arizona, on Oct. 31, Trump was asked by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson about his thoughts on Harris deputy Cheney, to which Trump responded, “She’s a radical war hawk.” Let’s put her there with the rifle” with nine barrels firing at her. Let’s see how she feels with the guns pointed at her face.

Scaramucci, Trump’s 11-day press secretary, responded to these comments on X (formerly Twitter): “Trump should be taken into custody. He is a convicted felon and merely violated the terms of his bail agreement by threatening someone’s life. He must be sent away.

Newsweek The Trump campaign emailed for comment.

It is unclear what bail condition Scaramucci is referring to in this post. Newsweek sent him an email seeking comment. The former Trump aide, who has a degree from Harvard Law School, campaigned against Trump during the election, calling him unfit for office.

He once claimed that Trump had lost his will to fight. And he has consistently supported Vice President Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency after she endorsed Joe Biden. He even highlighted a joke about Donald Trump’s “tiny hands.”

After being fired by Trump, he supported his re-election campaign until August 2019 and has since declined to support the former president. Scaramucci founded the Right Side PAC with other Republicans in June 2020 to encourage voters in swing states to support other candidates.

He also criticized Trump’s behavior at Arlington Cemetery in another X post and expressed condemnation of Trump’s alleged altercation with a staff member at the cemetery during an interview on CNN.

Scaramucci worked in investment banking before his career in politics, and his stint as White House communications director is one of the shortest tenures in history, tied for an aide to former President Ronald Reagan, according to NBC.

Trump is living under bail restrictions imposed by the state of Georgia amid the investigation into his alleged criminal attempts to overturn the 2020 election. Trump denies any wrongdoing in the case.

Scaramucci’s statement in his tweet that Trump is a felon refers to the trial in New York where he was found guilty on 34 counts following his hush money trial.

The presidential candidate is awaiting sentencing in New York. Although his first sentencing is scheduled for September 18, he will now not be sentenced until after the election. Trump still maintains his innocence in the case and could still appeal.
