The Ravens’ Kyle Hamilton is out with an ankle injury against the Bengals

BALTIMORE – All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton was ruled out for the second half of Thursday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, leaving the Baltimore Ravens without their best defensive back.

Hamilton injured his left ankle with 1:09 left in the first half and turned around without touching anyone. He limped off the field and then went to the locker room.

It was a big loss for a Ravens unit that ranks last in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 280.9 yards per game entering Thursday.

Hamilton is the Ravens’ best all-around defender. In nine games, he ranked second in tackles (67), while totaling five passes defensed, five quarterback hits and two sacks.

Ar’Darius Washington replaced Hamilton, who has missed three games in his three-year career.

The Ravens’ next game is November 17th at the first place Pittsburgh Steelers.
