This London airport could be your next favorite restaurant

Heathrow, London’s airport, has been named Europe’s best airport for dining, according to Food & Wine magazine’s latest Global Tastemakers Awards expert review. While airports are often associated with fast food and unappetizing options, Heathrow is a notable exception, with a range of restaurants to suit every taste. From Giraffe, a family-friendly eatery serving a variety of international dishes, to La Belle Époque, a restaurant in the Sofitel hotel, to Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar, which offers seafood and caviar.

Among the dining options that have enhanced Heathrow’s status, Terminal 5 stands out. Here, travelers can enjoy Gordon Ramsay Plane Food, a restaurant that offers fine British cuisine in a sleek setting designed as both a gastronomic retreat and a place for a light pre-flight meal. Opened in 2008 with an investment of £2.5 million, this restaurant serves dishes such as marinated lamb ribs, butter chicken curry and Thai red curry prawns. Prices range from £20 to £40.

Terminal 2, known as “The Queen’s Terminal”, is one of the most modern areas of the airport. Inaugurated in 2014, this terminal boasts an elegant and functional design, where passengers will also find a wide range of dining options. The Perfectionists’ Café, founded by chef Heston Blumenthal, serves dishes such as fish and chips, gourmet burgers, pizza and salads. There is also the Ca’puccino Café and Restaurant, which offers a selection of pasta, Italian desserts and coffee specialties.
