Thursday Night Football: James Cook and Ja’Marcus Ingram are the stars in the Bills’ 31-10 victory over the Dolphins

The Dolphins lost a clear 31-10 to the Bills and made matters worse by losing Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins quarterback was diagnosed with a concussion after hitting his head against Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin on a fourth-down run. Tagovailoa suffered a series of concussions in 2022 that led him to consider retirement.

Tagovailoa threw three interceptions, with Ja’Marcus Ingram picking off two of them. He returned one 25 yards on the Dolphins’ first possession, setting up James Cook’s first of three touchdowns. Ingram later had a 31-yard pick-six. Christian Benford had the other pick for the Bills, setting up a 19-yard field goal drive.

Ed Oliver and Von Miller each had a sack for the Bills.

Tagovailoa completed 17 of 25 passes for 145 yards with a touchdown, and his backup, Skylar Thompson, completed 8 of 14 passes for 80 yards. Thompson beat out Mike White as the backup, and after his release, White signed with the Bills’ practice squad.

The Dolphins could look to add White to their active roster if Tagovailoa is out, which seems likely given his history.

Cook’s touchdowns came on a pass reception for 17 yards and runs of 1 and 49 yards. He had 11 carries for 78 yards and a catch for 17 yards.

Josh Allen threw 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown, allowing the Bills to gain only 247 yards.

The Bills have beaten the Dolphins in 12 of the last 13 games between the teams, including the postseason.
