Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards breaks NBA record against Raptors

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on track to pick up their second win of the season on Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, their franchise cornerstone Anthony Edwards accomplished something of his own. At 23 years and 82 days old, he became the youngest player in NBA history to make 800 three-point shots in his career. The superstar was also tied with the all-time leading shooter, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, as the fifth-fastest shooter of all time. He reached the milestone in 305 games, as did Curry.

Edwards dominated just two games in the regular season, averaging 29.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 40.8% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range. Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, the newest additions to the Minnesota roster, are also off to a good start to the new year.

Randle scored a dominant 33 points in a thrilling two-point win over the Sacramento Kings, while DiVincenzo posted consistent numbers in three contests. He is considered the main reason the Wolves front office was willing to part ways with Karl-Anthony Towns, meaning an improvement in performance is hoped for.

Many wondered how the Wolves’ record-breaker and Randle would fit together, but it’s already abundantly clear.

“We told him this morning, don’t pass to us, we’ll pass to you, and he showed us today,” Edwards said of Randle after Thursday’s win. “I have a feeling if Julius is himself, we’re going to be in trouble.”
