Tips and predictions for Week 2 2024 against the New England Patriots

Tips and predictions for Week 2 2024 against the New England Patriots

Lorenzo Reyes, USA Today: Seahawks 19, Patriots 17

“I want to see a bit more from both teams before I’m sure about either, but I was impressed with New England and its defensive dominance over Cincinnati. Still, I recognize the Pats are a bit of a risk on the moneyline, so I’m going all in on Seattle. The key will be whether Kenneth Walker and the Seahawks’ running game can hold up against a strong New England defense.”

Tyler Dragon, USA Today: Seahawks 21, Patriots 17

“Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo deserves a lot of credit for New England’s performance in the biggest upset of Week 1. The Patriots will look to play physical and run downhill with RB Rhamondre Stevenson. But Seattle has the personnel to limit Stevenson’s production and enough firepower on offense.”

Richard Morin, USA Today: Patriots 20, Seahawks 14

“Can the Patriots do it again? Seattle makes the trip across the country and plays in the early transfer period against a team that seems to be gaining confidence early on? I’m giving New England +3 odds.”

Jordan Mendoza, USA Today: Seahawks 16, Patriots 13

“The surprise win over Cincinnati showed that New England can go as far as its defense allows. Seattle has recovered from a slow start against Denver and will face a tough exchange on the cross-country tour. Still, the Seahawks are doing just enough for a narrow win.”

Bill Bender, Sports News: Seahawks 19, Patriots 16

“The Patriots pulled off an upset on the road in Week 1. Can they improve to 2-0 under new coach Jerod Mayo in his home debut? Seattle coach Mike Macdonald also won in his debut. Geno Smith threw for 171 yards and a touchdown, and Kenneth Walker III ran for 103 yards. New England won with a defense that limited Cincinnati to 224 yards. Jacoby Brissett threw no interceptions and only had one sack, and Rhamondre Stevenson ran for 120 yards and a touchdown. The Patriots have a real chance to go 2-0 here in a defensive battle.”

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Patriots 20, Seahawks 16

“This is a long first road trip for the Seahawks, as they face a team that beat the Bengals last week. The Patriots’ defense was good in that game and Seattle has issues with the offensive line. I think that will show when the Patriots win a low-scoring game thanks to their defense.”
