There are collectibles whose appeal increases over time or because of limited numbers, and then there are collectibles with prominent provenance. This one falls into the latter category.

As far as celebrity cars go, you can’t go wrong with a GOAT-owned vehicle, especially when the car is already impressive. The association with seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady adds value to any car, more so than most athletes and other public figures, whether from music or film.

At least, that’s the hope attached to this lot: a 2024 Rolls-Royce Ghost, bought new and customized for Tom Brady, is up for auction. At the time of writing, bidding is at $402,500, with four days left in the auction and the reserve already reached. Bidding could get even more heated in the final hours, so keep an eye on this listing.

The Ghost is brand new, and not just because it’s a new year model: it has just 127 miles (204 km) on the clock, which probably means it’s only been driven once or twice by Brady himself. If at all. But the fact that he specified it himself and customized it with his signature on the illuminated treadplates makes it a highly desirable example.

Based on Rolls-Royce’s Architecture of Luxury, the Ghost offers just the right blend of performance and comfort. Brady’s unit has a Black Diamond finish on the outside and a contrasting white finish on the inside, packed with extras for the ultimate experience whether you’re sitting in the front or the back.

These extras include lambswool floor mats, a personalised dashboard clock, picnic tables for rear passengers, rear massaging seats and an extended full-leather headliner with panoramic glass sunroof. A Ghost is special in its own right, but these extras make this model even more special.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 6.7-liter V12 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers 563 horsepower. All-wheel drive and Rolls-Royce’s adaptive Planar suspension system make every ride smoother than ever before.

The listing lists BradyRR as the seller, which could either be a representative of the GOAT himself or Brady’s biggest fan. However, that’s not so important. The vehicle comes with a clean title, Carfax report, and Seller’s Disclosure Report, including documentation to prove ownership.

So it’s a brand new car with very special features, special provenance (even if the celebrity owner was surprisingly short-lived) and the rare chance to have something in common with one of the most successful athletes of our modern era, namely Brady himself. That’s the definition of a “collector’s item.” The auction ends on August 23.
