Trackdown: Help find the suspects in the West Dallas tobacco shop shooting

In this week’s Trackdown, police are searching for two teenagers suspected of shooting the owner of a West Dallas tobacco shop.

The owner of the tobacco shop on Singleton Boulevard told police that the teenagers left when he asked them for their identification.

A short time later, they returned with a suspect wearing a ski mask. Police say both suspects had weapons on them at the time.

“The owner was pretty nervous when they came back, so he backed up a little bit. It looked like he was going to throw himself on the floor,” said Dallas Police Detective Kevin Murphy. “They tried to get on the counter, and when they saw him drop to the floor, they backed up and as they walked away, fired several shots, hitting him in the back and head.”

The owner survived the shooting.

The suspects left the building without taking any items with them.

“They shot and then walked away,” said Det. Murphy. “I mean, they were about to kill him for no reason.”

According to investigators, the suspects came to the store on foot.
