Tropical Storm Francine: University announces closures

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will close at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, and remain closed on Wednesday, September 11, due to Tropical Storm Francine. The campus is expected to reopen at noon on Thursday, September 12. Please note the following instruction, operations, and housing details.

Classes

  • From Tuesday, September 10th, 3:30 p.m., all courses will be cancelled. This also applies to Wednesday, September 11th, and until Thursday, September 12th, 12:00 p.m.
  • On-campus classes are expected to resume at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12.

Operations

  • Campus operations and department offices will be closed beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, and will remain closed until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12.
  • Campus operations and department offices are expected to resume on campus at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12.
  • Essential personnel performing weather-related duties should report to work on Wednesday and Thursday if required.

Academic Calendar

  • The deadline for the fall 2024 census is now Tuesday, September 17.

Campus residents

  • Campus residents should plan to stay home from 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, through the morning of Thursday, September 12.
  • Further details, including information on meal delivery, will be communicated directly to residents.
