Two elementary schools in the Springfield City School District were evacuated and a middle school was closed Friday morning after threats were made against the buildings, school officials said.

According to a press release from SCSD, students at Perrin Woods Elementary School and Snowhill Elementary School were evacuated from their buildings Friday morning and taken to an “alternate location within the district.” The district is currently releasing the students to their parents.

In addition, Roosevelt Middle School was closed before the start of school because of the same threats.

There are no other threats to Springfield City School District buildings, school officials said in a news release.

More about Springfield: Springfield Town Hall and Elementary School evacuated after bomb threat, city says

On Friday, students from Springfield public schools were evacuated for the second consecutive day after the city received national attention due to unfounded right-wing extremist rumors about the community’s Haitian immigrant population.

On Thursday, Springfield City Hall and Fulton Elementary School were evacuated after bomb threats were made against several city facilities, officials said. All buildings in Clark County were also closed Thursday out of an “abundance of caution,” county officials said.

The evacuation of Fulton Elementary School on Thursday was based on information from the state fire marshal, school officials said.

A copy of Thursday’s bomb threat, obtained by the USA Today Network, denigrated Springfield’s Haitian community and pointed to false claims spread by prominent conservative figures such as former President Donald Trump that immigrants eat domestic and wild animals.

The author of Thursday’s bomb threat said they planted bombs at Springfield City Hall, the Springfield Driver’s Exam Station, the Ohio License Bureau Southside, the Springfield Academy of Excellence and Fulton Elementary School.
