UConn five-star shooting guard recruit prepares to announce his decision

The UConn Huskies fan base is waiting with bated breath as UConn top-20 recruit Braylon Mullins prepares to announce his college decision on Wednesday.

The announcement will arrive shortly after 6 p.m. ET on the 247Sports YouTube channel, according to 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein.

Finkelstein also released a concise scouting report on Mullins before the reveal.

“Elite 3pt shooter (47%); DEEP Range,” the post says. “3 seconds out of motion, dribbling, in transition. Tough ball defender. Position size at 6-5. Springy at the edge (60% 2pt FG).”

According to 247Sports, Mullins is the No. 16 player in the country. He recently whittled his list down to three schools: UConn, North Carolina and Indiana.

Mullins praised UConn and head coach Dan Hurley for the program’s ability to develop players. Mullins has been compared to former UConn guard Cam Spencer, who was selected No. 53 by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Earlier stages of Mullins’ recruiting were dominated by the narrative that the shooting guard would ultimately stay close to home in college, leading many to believe that the Indiana Hoosiers had the upper hand over all other programs.

This narrative has lost momentum in recent months.

Is Dan Hurley close to landing his third recruit from the class of 2025?
