UConn lands commitment from Australian guard Jacob Furphy

UConn added a fourth commitment to its 2025 recruiting class when Australian guard Jacob Furphy announced his commitment to the Huskies on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-6 NBA Global Academy winger visited both UConn and Illinois in September but decided not to join Dan Hurley and Co. in Storrs.

Furphy was part of the Australian team that won the FIBA ​​U18 Asian Cup this fall. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in the event while shooting 13-28 from behind the arc.

The fall was fruitful for Hurley and the Huskies on the recruiting trail. Adams, the No. 17 junior player and No. 5 shooting guard in the country, was the first to join the class, on Sept. 30. Reibe, the top-ranked center in the cycle, committed on Oct. 16. Mullins, the No. 22 recruit and No. 6 SG, followed on Oct. 23.
