Vanderbilt, Arkansas, is causing a major shakeup in the SEC power rankings

Vanderbilt, Arkansas, is causing a major shakeup in the SEC power rankings

If you were a goalpost in the Southeastern Conference, you weren’t safe. It was a wild Saturday in college football, with four of the top 10 teams losing and seven teams in the top 25 falling victim to October’s upset. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee Volunteers, both in the top four of the national rankings, lost on the road to unranked conference opponents.

The Missouri Tigers had a chance to make a statement in their only Top 25 matchup of the week against Texas A&M. The Tigers played more like Toulouse from The Aristocats than Shere-Khan from The Jungle Book.

A week after Alabama defeated Georgia in what many called the “Game of the Year,” the Crimson Tide pulled a Lincoln Riley in their surprising loss to Vanderbilt in Nashville.

After a chaotic college football weekend in Week 6, there was big movement in the SEC Power Rankings this week.
