Who will win the election? Trump’s chances rise to over 90%

The betting markets turned heavily towards Donald Trump on Tuesday evening as the first states were called for a presidential election.

So far, reliably Republican and Democratic states have fallen into the columns of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. No swing states have been declared yet, but there are signs that Trump is likely to win Georgia and North Carolina.

According to Kalshi, Trump’s chances of winning increased to 93% from 57% at the start of the day. On PredictIt, the contract price for Trump’s election victory rose to 90 cents from 54 cents on Monday. On Interactive Brokers’ new IBKR Forecast Trader, Trump’s odds rose to 92% from 59% at the start of the day.

Polymarket, a crypto-based prediction market, showed that Trump’s odds had risen to 94.6% as of Tuesday evening from 62% early in the morning.

Meanwhile, financial markets have also begun to price in a Trump victory, as the dollar, Treasury yields, Bitcoin and shares of Trump Media and Technology rose sharply in after-hours trading.

Last week and over the weekend, prediction markets had shown strong momentum for Harris, who even briefly took the lead on some exchanges.
