Patriots

and each played 28 snaps in Week 5. Stevenson dominated the touchdowns, scoring 16 to just seven for Gibson, and he was by far the better fantasy performer.

is out as the Pats’ starting quarterback, and the fantasy owners of Stevenson and Gibson are hoping they can make way for the two defenders.

Jets

played 53 snaps, only 19 of which were as a backup, but Hall only had 12 touchdowns. Allen got six touches of the ball. Neither were good fantasy options.

New York released Robert Saleh this week, so it will be interesting to see if Hall is more involved than he was at this point in the season.

Bills

Got 22 of 26 touches out of the backfield in Week 5. He played 36 snaps and was on the field for 21 snaps (three touches).

This is still Cook’s backfield, but Johnson and Johnson are valuable handcuffs in case Cook ever goes down.

Dolphins

left in Week 5 with an injury, allowing him to lead the backfield. Mostert played 44 snaps and scored 21 touchdowns, while Wright played 25 snaps and 13 touchdowns.

We need to reevaluate the backfield as the Dolphins return from their bye week.

Ravens

Led the Baltimore backfield with 41 snaps played, but only got six touches. played 39 snaps and easily led with 16 touchdowns.

Continue playing Henry every week and avoid playing Hill after seeing what happened in Week 5.

Steelers

dominated the backfield and both were out due to injuries. Harris had 16 touches in 43 snaps and will remain the workhorse if Warren and Patterson are out in Week 6.

Bengal

played 45 snaps for Cincy while on 22 snaps. However, Brown had 15 touchdowns to just 12 for Moss, and Brown was the better fantasy asset due to one receiving touchdown.

The backfield remains fairly split, making it difficult to start either player in standard leagues unless the defensive lineup is super favorable. They are both solid starting options for deep leagues.

Tan

Cleveland’s backfield was pretty divided again in Week 5. It got 12 touches in 36 snaps while sitting at 10 touches in 21 snaps.

The return of will add even more mystery to the backfield breakdown and make them all better deep league options.

Texan

In and out was the leader in the backfield. Ogunbowale had 21 touches in 46 snaps while only seeing 22 snaps and getting 11 touches.

This backfield will look different with Mixon and Pierce back, but if both are out again in Week 6, Ogunbowale appears to be the best fantasy option.

Colts

Because he was a regular workhorse sidelined with injury, he recorded 16 touches in 41 snaps in Week 5. Has eight touches on the ball in 29 snaps.

Expect a similar collapse in Week 6 unless Taylor is back – Taylor would be the only player worth playing if he’s healthy.

Jaguars

played 23 to 22 snaps for . Bigsby was also far more efficient with 14 touches, while Etienne did most of his damage as a pass catcher with 12 touches.

Etienne is struggling with an injury and at least until that is a thing of the past, expect the two defenders to split the backfield. Bigsby was a key waiver target this week and will likely start in Week 6 in most leagues.

Broncos

Led the Denver backfield with 18 touches in 40 snaps. had nine touches in 23 snaps.

Williams is currently the clear leader in the backfield, but as he loses a lot of touches against McLaughlin, Williams’ starting decision still depends on the defense he’s going against.

Chiefs

Dominated the backfield work in KC and had 28 touches in 53 snaps. had five touches in 16 snaps while he had one touch in 21 snaps.

could return after the bye, but this is probably Hunt’s backcourt until he returns.

robber

was out due to injury, so (17 touchdowns in 40 snaps) and (eight touchdowns in 31 snaps) split the backfield work.

There seems to be a lot of change in Las Vegas, and until we have a better idea of the distribution of the backcourt, none of the three fullbacks are good fantasy options.

Cowboys

had 22 of 31 backfield contacts in Week 5, so that’s his backfield now. He played 38 snaps and is a pretty solid starting option in all formats.

got six touches in 23 snaps. In standard leagues he’s no longer on the fantasy radar unless Dowdle gets injured, and in deeper leagues he’s just a handcuff option and not a starting asset.

Giants

missed Week 5 due to injury and Jr. took full advantage. He had 19 touches in 45 snaps and had 130 total yards. He will lead the backfield again if Singletary misses more time.

I’m excited to see the breakdown in the backfield when Singletary is back. I think Tracy could still get a lot of touches, which would make Singletary a worse fantasy asset.

Commanders

returned in Week 5 and there was chaos in the Commanders backfield. Ekeler had eight touches in 33 snaps, Jr. had seven touches in 23 snaps and seven touches in 15 snaps.

Ekeler had the best day in terms of yardage, while Robinson scored twice and McNichols scored once, also representing good/decent fantasy options. After this outing, it will be difficult to start any of these three players in a standard league, but they are definitely starting options for deep leagues.

Vikings

was injured in Week 5 and was able to lead the backfield. Chandler had 16 touches in 46 snaps and should take the lead if Jones misses time.

will serve as a backup but probably won’t get enough work to earn a starting spot in any league.

packer

Dominated touches in the backfield in Week 5, scoring 20 in 40 snaps. had seven touches in 15 snaps.

Jacobs is the only one worth starting in any league, and based on his heavy workload alone, he can probably start regardless of the matchup.

Bears

Had 23 touches in 50 snaps, dominating the backfield for the second straight game. Had a few short TD runs to make it seem like he was a better contributor than he was – he got 10 touches in 23 snaps.

Swift is back in the starting XI in the standard leagues and I think he can be used again regardless of the matchup. Johnson is a deep league option, but that’s only because he’s scored a few touchdowns this season, making him a risky player.

Hawks

had 15 touches in 58 snaps, while he had nine touches in 31 snaps Thursday night.

Robinson is still a solid starting option despite a slower start to the season. Allgeier is an entry-level option in deeper setups.

privateer

and split the workload on Thursday evenings. White had 13 touchdowns in 34 snaps while Irving had 11 touchdowns in 23 snaps.

White was the better fantasy player in a game where neither defender scored. They remain flexible options in standard leagues while being good for entry into deep leagues.

Panthers

He once again led the way in the backfield, recording 17 touches in 39 snaps. He only got four touches in 23 snaps.

could complicate Hubbard’s workload when he’s ready to leave, so keep an eye on the rookie’s status.

Saints

continues to dominate the backfield, recording 17 touches in 47 snaps. Continue to start it every week.

could factor in a bit when he’s ready.

Aries

He recorded 23 touches in 67 snaps, proving he is a must-have fantasy player.

Had six touches in 11 snaps, but is just a handcuff for Williams at this point.

Seahawks

Had 12 touches in 39 snaps in Week 5. Had five touches in 21 snaps.

This is Walker’s backfield again as Charbonnet becomes the handcuff again.

49ers

dominated the backfield again, making 15 of 20 touches in Week 5. He played 41 snaps and only nine for .

Without Mason, Mason remains a must-have fantasy player.

Cardinals

got 21 of the team’s 22 backcourt touches in Week 5, and that heavy workload alone is enough to make him start fairly confidently. He played 46 snaps to just 13 for him, which is just a handcuff.
