Windsor Lake gets life jacket rental station – Loveland Reporter-Herald

A new life jacket rental station has been set up at the southern end of Windsor Lake’s beach.

The station was installed in July as part of a partnership with Drennen’s Dreams Foundation, the organization that installed its first life jacket loan station at Boyd Lake in Loveland in 2023. The station at Windsor Lake is its second location.

The stations offer the public free use of life jackets on a first come, first served basis.

People recreating at Windsor Lake can borrow life jackets for as long as they need them, a news release said, and are asked to return them after use.

“Life jackets save lives,” Rachael Stefanich, aquatics recreation coordinator for the City of Windsor, said in the news release. “This station is an incredible opportunity to partner with Drennen’s Dreams Foundations and spread information about water safety and drowning awareness,” she said.

The purpose of the Lifejacket Rental Station is to increase the number of lifejackets worn during watersports activities and to educate the public about the importance of lifejacket use, including how to properly wear and use a lifejacket.
