Winston Churchill against online rights

The online right has found a strange new bogeyman: Winston Churchill. In a new interview with Tucker Carlson, guest Darryl Cooper – the man behind the online account Martyr Made – called Churchill “the greatest villain of World War II” and blamed the man widely hailed as the “greatest Briton” for making the conflict “something other than an invasion of Poland.”

Conservatives immediately criticized Cooper and Carlson, with one commenter calling the statements “incredibly uninformed.” But several anonymous right-wing accounts echoed the idea, portraying the prime minister as a poster child for the foreign policy interventionism that the right has recently learned to abhor. Will Churchill’s German counterpart be rebranded next?
