Woodward Park City launches multi-week fall programs

Woodward Park City on Wednesday announced a new series of multi-week programs for children ages 3 to 12, beginning Tuesday, September 3.

Four-week courses for beginners and advanced students can currently be booked for the months of September, October and November. More sports and programs will be announced in the coming months.

“Woodward’s multi-week programs combine instruction, life lessons, progression and training in a package that promises to inspire a lifelong passion for our action and outdoor sports,” said Gar Trayner, General Manager of Woodward Park City. “These new programs offer kids four weeks of instruction in some of our most popular sports. Participants will stay with the same group and coach for the entire four-week session. As the year progresses, the programs will evolve to reflect the seasonality of our product offerings.”

Woodward Park City’s multi-week programs begin the week of Tuesday, September 3, with programs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Each session includes four one-hour classes at a cost of $89 for members and $129 for non-members. School-age programs begin at 5:00 or 6:00 p.m., and preschool programs begin at 2:00 p.m.

The offer includes the following:

  • On Tuesday afternoons at 5 p.m., Intro to Action Sports offers participants ages 6 to 12 an introduction to skateboarding, scootering, BMX biking, trampolining and parkour. The four-week courses begin on September 3, October 1 and October 29. No previous experience of action sports is necessary.
  • Parkour 101 is offered on Wednesday afternoons at 5 p.m. and improves spatial awareness, a skill that transcends athletic boundaries, for children ages 6 to 12. While participants progress through the skills and development outlined in the introductory parkour curriculum, Parkour 102 is offered for participants ages 7 to 12. Parkour 102 is offered on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. beginning in October and promotes skill development and spatial awareness. Parkour 101 sessions are offered beginning September 4 and October 2. Parkour 102 sessions are offered beginning October 2 and October 30.
  • Starting September 5, Learn 2 MTB will take place on Thursday afternoons at 5pm and will provide access to lift-equipped bikes for beginner and intermediate riders ages 6 to 12. Participants will conquer Woodward’s advanced network of mountain bike trails, developing skills to tackle more challenging trails and features.
  • Learn 2 Skate is also offered on Thursdays at 5pm and utilizes our indoor and outdoor skateboarding parks, ramps and pump tracks to introduce and develop skateboarding skills in a supportive environment. Learn 2 Skate begins Thursday, October 31st.

In addition to the programs offered for school-age children, Woodward is pleased to announce additional programs for younger children.

  • Kick, Push, Coast with sessions offered on Tuesdays at 2pm introducing preschool children ages 3-5 to skateboarding and scootering in our innovative environments. Sessions will be offered starting September 3, October 1 and October 29.
  • Tumble Tykes introduces participants ages 3-5 to the red floor, parkour zone and trampolines on Wednesdays at 2pm, with a focus on spatial, physical and aerial awareness. Tumble Tykes sessions are offered on September 4, October 2 and October 30.
  • 1st Pedals outdoors and 1st Pedals Indoors sessions indoors and outdoors allow participants ages 3-5 to ride bikes throughout the fall, with an emphasis on learning to pedal and navigate terrain. Micro Bike sessions are Thursdays at 2 p.m. The outdoor session is offered in September, with sessions moving indoors in October and November.

Additional multi-week ski, snowboard and indoor programs will be announced in September.
